Role Overview
As a Practice Nurse through Fidelis Healthcare, you will:
- Ensure the delivery of safe and evidence-based nursing care for patients with both acute and chronic conditions.
- Provide preventative and management-focused interventions to meet patient needs.
- Collaborate with GPs, senior practice nurses, and practice managers to support the priorities of each practice setting.
- Assist in leading and managing nursing resources to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments, focusing on chronic illness management and preventative care.
- Prescribe medications as needed to support treatment plans.
- Follow clinical governance and audit standards to ensure excellent care delivery.
- Perform a wide range of nursing procedures, including:
- Venepuncture and blood pressure management
- Urinalysis, blood glucose testing, and peak flow technique
- Spirometry, pregnancy testing, and cervical screening
- Wound management and swab collection
Requirements
- Qualified and Registered Nurse with NMC registration.
- At least 2 years of experience working without direct supervision, ideally in a primary care setting.
- Knowledge of primary care nursing, chronic illness management, and preventative health.
- Understanding of clinical governance and audit practices.
- Competency in core nursing procedures, as outlined above.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care.
